Soul Circuit
This program, which ran on Saturday nights, fell as one of the casualties of the format change. The music, different as it was from most of the other programming on the station, stands as a great example of some of the great variety of music found on WUFT.
At the end of the show on August 2, host Margi Hatch wrapped up her last show. In the last set, she explained that she grew up near Clear Lake, Iowa, where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. Richardson died in the plane crash that defined the day the music died. She played The Day the Music Died, That'll Be the Day, and Goodnight, Sweetheart.
The day the music died, indeed.
